Background Effect

by @ 8:51 am on September 2, 2005.

Here’s an example of an effect applied only to the background:

The background effect is the Photoshop’s Glowing Edges. You can see I didn’t get the antennae captured with the lasso, so they’re glowing. Very psychedelic. It’s fun playing with this kind of effect, and it’s something I think I’ll keep working at. You never know when you’ll end up with a masterpiece.

Speaking of masterpieces, I ordered three 8×10’s of my photos from Mpix. The 8×10’s are relatively inexpensive (only 2.49, I believe, if you get the metallic paper, which I did). Compared to 3.99 at Walmart, it’s pretty good deal. 3 photos with shipping was the same price as if I’d had them printed up at Walmart. I did, however, go to Walmart to pick up my frames, which I found some very nice ones not too expensive. The three photos I printed up where my Day Lilies, my Butterfly, and my Lomo 1 / Dry Brush Snap Dragons. They all came out very well, although I think I have to say the butterfly is my favorite. Once we figure out where to hang them, I’ll get pictures taken to post.
