Williamsburg: Day 5

by @ 8:03 pm on August 9, 2006.

Our last day in Williamsburg was the most quiet. We headed over to Yorktown, but didn’t have all that much time there to explore since we had to be back in Williamsburg early afternoon for a program there. So we didn’t get to stay for any tours of the battlefields. We took a quick tour of one of the historic homes in Yorktown, the Nelson house. The first picture below is of a home in Yorktown that I believe is privately owned. I just really liked it. The second picture is the Nelson House.

In the afternoon, we jetted back to Colonial Williamsburg for the Bits & Bridles tour, which takes you back to the stables. It was fun to see the carriages and such, but not too exciting otherwise. Since mom and I are both horse people, it didn’t tell us really anything we didn’t already know.

And that marks the end of our Williamsburg trip. It was a fun place to visit, and I’m glad we went.
