An Accidental Chicken Experiment

by @ 7:42 pm on June 22, 2014.

It really hit me today the difference between my outside and inside layer chicks. Here are the outside chicks. The one on the cinderblocks is a columbian Wyandotte.

And here are my indoor chicks. The one that’s still all fluff is also a columbian Wyandotte.

They are all getting the same natural feed. The outside chicks are getting a couple handfuls of grass every few days. Maybe they’re also finding a lot of bugs, I don’t know. But today I got them all switched around so the bigger chicks are in a pen I can move every day, and the smaller ones are in the original coup, which offers more protection from the elements.
